5th Hour Blog Introduction

Welcome to Mrs. Lang’s Blog for 5th Hour Online Experience B class. We’ll be using this site for teacher-to-student communication as well as student-to-student communication. My goal is to do one journal a week. The blog will be posted on Monday and you have until Friday to complete the questions/comments on the blog by leaving a comment. You will also be required to read other students' comments and respond to a minimum of two.

Many of you may have your own personal blogs on MySpace or similar sites. For those of you who have never used a blog, this will give you some experience.

Before we get started we’ll have to set some ground rules. First of all, all postings to this site must use school appropriate language. When you post, write in complete grammatically correct sentences. When commenting on another student’s post, keep your comments non-personal. You can agree or disagree with a comment but refrain from sarcasm and/or put-downs. State your position on the issue at hand and why you feel that way.

This week's topics is "Dream for the Future". What are your dreams for your future? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What does your life look like? Are you married? Do you have children? What is your occupation? What do you do for fun?

  2. My current dream for the future is to play the bassoon professionally or to become a band director. In ten years I will be 25 and see myself living in New York City playing my bassoon in orchestra pits for Broadway. My life is filled by music and school. I’m either at orchestra practice, a private lesson for my instruments, practicing my instrument, studying for a test, or doing homework. I am not married, nor do I have any children. I volunteer at my moms work twice a week; she runs the latchkey program at DRE. But besides that I don’t have a job. For fun I like to read, listen to music, put together jigsaw puzzles, and talk/hang out with friends.

  4. I don't really know where I'd be in 10 years. Hopefully I'd have graduated from B.G.S.U. and started a family of my own, (married/around 4-5 kids,) and I'd like to be working as an adoption counselor or as a social worker. For fun I want to stick to playing the violin and would also want to hangout with my friends - going to plays, concerts, and probably through play-dates for the kids.

  5. In ten years I see myself in space. More specifically probably Mars or maybe Pluto it depends on what mood I’m in. Danny Hendrick will be accompanying me on the spacecraft. I don’t know if I will be married in ten years maybe if I meet the right alien. I’m going to adopt 10 children and take them to space with me. My occupation is NASA! For fun I will sleep because it takes a long time to travel through space of course.

  6. Dreams are something that we all have. Some people have dreams for their future and some don't. As for me, my dreams for the future are bright. I want to move to Montana with my husband and have the most beautiful house with a lake behind it, and has a balcony that is a few feet from the house across the lake. I want to be a cake decorator so then I can also be a stay at home mom. I also want to have some kids. I want to be married. In my spare time i would probably run, or something fun.

  7. In my future, I see myself as either a neurologist or a writer. I am married with 2 children. For fun I like to read, go swimming, or just about any family outing. I hope that my family is economically stable but with the way the economy is looking and with the way our dear federal government is handling our countries current difficulties I feel like that may be a very unrealistic dream. 8. Okay so, my dreams for the future are to be an animal caretaker and non-profit exotic big-cat wildlife sanctuary owner. I'm going to go to college and get a degree in biologym while having an internship at the Toledo Zoo. I am going to find an amazing husband and he is going to buy me a mountain in West Virginia, with a lake and lots of trees. It won't be a very tall mountain, but the lake is going to surround my oakwood cabin house. And of course, i will have a boat on my lake, and 4 wheelers and all that fun stuff. My dad is going to live with me and my husband, and our three adopted children; Nicoli Christopher, Spencer Nyke, and Leland Alexander. WOO! My specialty animals are going to be big cats, and i will work with the Tiger Rescue Organization. I cannot travel much since i have to take care of all the animals, so that is why my dad is going to live with me, and my family will come to my house for holidays. These are my dreams, and i will live all of them out. ( :

  9. My dreams for the future include having a job in the math and science field. I hope to have finished ten years from now. I don’t know if I will be married but I hope some day I will be. I do want to have children, but I want to make sure that I am capable of providing for them financially. I am considering a job in the science field. I also enjoy math, so I hope I can find a job that includes these two factors and suits me.

  11. My dream for the future is to be happy. I have no idea what I want to do with my life, so I should probably start thinking about that. All I know is that I want to work with people and I want to spend my time doing something I love. I think it'd be really fun to be a cosmetologist but I don't know if that'd make me enough money to live the way I want. I feel as though I belong somewhere where it feels like it's summer all year long because I'm obsessed! For fun, I'll just go out with friends and probably travel or something. Who knows. I want to have children eventually but I have no idea when having my own family comes into the picture. I want to have a lot of cats, but not be a catlady .. and it sounds shallow but I want to marry someone rich. =P Or just a nice guy who makes me happy. That works too.

  15. My dreams for the future include becoming Dillon Cordray’s best friend. If we became best friends, we could harmonize our angelic voices together to all the current pop hits on the radio. In ten years, I see myself living in my mother’s basement. And next to my mother’s basement will be Dillon’s mother’s basement. Chances are I will not be married because Dillon does not like to commit. In place of children I will own many cats and farm animals. My occupation will be herding these cats and farm animals into my basement every night around 9 PM. For fun, Dillon and I will train gerbils and hamsters of all sizes for international competition.

  19. My dream is to be a Squirrel, and if that does not work then in ten years I see myself in my mother’s basement. My life will be a black abyss. I will not have children, I will have CATS! Many, many, many cats. I plan to be a professional WII player, I’ll keep it old school. For fun I will weed random neighbor’s yards, keeping it stealthy, they’ll never know its me.

My occupation would be working at my bakery and having fun doing my job. For fun I would have a good time with my family and friends. I would go shopping and go to the movies for fun. My life would be in good shape.

  23. My dream for the future is to become Sydney Cooper’s Best Friend. If we become best friends we will harmonize our angelic voices. In ten years I will be living in my mother’s basement, next to Sydney who lives in her mother’s basement. I have no children because I am afraid of Sydney even though she blames it on my lack of commitment. I help Sydney herd her farm animals, but I also work on building a tunnel between our houses with only plastic spoons. Hopefully it will be finished in twenty years. For fun we train gerbils and hamsters of all sizes international competitions.

  26. Kayla Winters....

A neurologist and a writer are two very different careers. What made you choose those careers? Do you plan on writing about neurology?
